Suggested creation of a cyber security center to KAIST (2010, Policy Planning Office, Cheongwadae).

  • Suggested creation of a cyber security center to KAIST (2010, Policy Planning Office, Cheongwadae).

    - Suggested the needs to create an organization that responds to the more intelligent and complicated cyber security incidents, such as the DDOS hacking on 36 offices in Korea and the Stuxnet attack on Iran's nuclear energy facilities.

    - Suggested the needs to nurture and secure globally competitive manpower specialized in cyber security and information protection.

  • Selected for a government-funded R&D project by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy and the Education, Science, and Technology Committee's Working Committee of the National Assembly (October 2010).

    - Assigned KAIST, a world-class advanced research-based educational institute, to national R&D on “cyber security” and “information protection.”

  • Established 「KAIST Cyber Security Research Center」 and created the 「KAIST Graduate School of Information Protection」 programs (February 2011).
